Overcome Travel Anxiety + His Gifts Never Run Out

Uncategorized

Yesterday I was actually quite nervous about leaving the kids and flying across country. We have been watching those shows on plane crashes. Why?!?

So when my alarm went off at 5:00am, I hit my knees and asked the Lord to take the fear away.

And the fear was GONE.

He is so good!

As I got ready I listened to this very appropriate song & went from nervous to pumped about the trip!

We rented two movies from redbox on the way:

“I Can Only Imagine” – (Which was amazing!!!)

And

“Paul the Apostle of Christ” – (It was pretty good but the hubs dosed off so couldn’t have been that great ;).

Around 6 and a half hours later, we touched down in Oakland, California, went to dinner and hubs was asleep by 6:45 pm west coast time!

Friday Morning Run

Our Friday morning run at Muir Beach was amazing!!! We ran the “California Coastal Trail,” which takes you on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Pacific in all its glory.

The incline was so tough; a lot of hiking, not just running, was done. The views at the top were so worth it!

Nick and I are so enjoying some time away together. I’m also enjoying lots of quiet with the Lord while he’s working here.

The passage I read in Psalms today was perfect to be paired with the views we took in of His magnificence on our run:

Psalm 84 The Message

One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches. I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin. All sunshine and sovereign is GOD, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn’t scrimp with his traveling companions. It’s smooth sailing all the way with GOD -of-the-Angel-Armies.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭84:10-12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Later at the pool, I spent some time with the Lord over this passage and wrote it out line by line, digging deeper by using synonyms for my key words.

Sunshine – light, goodness, holiness

Sovereignty – in control over every power- even dark & evil powers of the unseen places

Generous /Gifts – He gives, gives, and gives to His children with His abundant riches in Christ Jesus.

Glory – Great Beauty, splendor, majesty.

He definitely does to “scrimp” (to be thrifty or parsimonious) on his traveling companions!

He is so generous & his gifts never run out.

May He open our eyes & hearts to more of His gifts today- whether walking with him beside beaches, or where I’ll be soon- home serving in our kitchens.

Love from Cali,

Amy xoxo
