Today is our last day studying the LENGTH of God’s love for us!  We focused in on Psalm 39 and settled on the fact that the length of time God will love us in heaven will far outlast the short amount of time he is loving us on this side of eternity.

Psalm 39

“4, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered—
how fleeting my life is.
5 You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath.” Interlude
6 We are merely moving shadows,
and all our busy rushing ends in nothing.
We heap up wealth,
not knowing who will spend it.
7 And so, Lord, where do I put my hope?
My only hope is in you.”

I cannot tell you how mush a LOVE LOVE LOVE verses 5 & 6.  I love them so much, I had to write a reminder on my hand about how short my life is.  (A hand model, I am NOT, but I loved this illustration.)  Life is so short, isn’t it?

And I am the worst at rushing around busily.  I am late to almost everything.  This was such a good reminder from the Lord to keep storing up my treasure in heaven with Him, because all this treasure we are running around to secure is not going to last very long.  So where do we put our hope?  In Him!

Our Love Letter to God:

We contrasted the amount of time our lives on earth are to the amount of time our lives in eternity with Jesus will be!  And the Lord’s steadfast love, which we know endures FOREVER will be manifest, fully glorified in heaven.  We will finally know what this agape love we can only imagine will be like there.  FOREVER.

Our Love Letter From God:  Happy Valentine’s From Him!  What a gift!

I hope you all have a very LOVE filled weekend over Valentine’s, knowing you are LOVED by the King of Kings now and for all eternity!

Before I sat down this afternoon I prayed and told God I was tired of writing.  He immediately sparked in me a motivation to make his Word beautiful!  I picked up this calligraphy marker ($2) at my local Walmart  and headed to Pinterest for some inspiration and step by step instructions!

I learned a secret. We can do this girls!  There are so many good links that all we need is a little time and a lot of paper to practice!

3 Pros about learning to Hand Letter Scripture:

1. It makes God’s word BEAUTIFUL!  God’s Word brings beauty to my life, so I want to see it look beautiful on the paper.

In the first bible study I wrote, “Refocused,” I directed us everyday to use the “Write it Out” method:

Write it out directions: Make God’s Word look beautiful. You may write out only part of the verse, or the whole verse. Make some words bigger than others that stick out to you. Use cursive and print. Make it something you will look back on and treasure.

2.  It MOTIVATES me and my  daughters to write out his Word! Therefore, we are talking about it together and learning it together.

3. It helps us MEMORIZE his word.  Ya’ll, let me just say, I wrote this verse so many times today, I can quote it to you now.  Therefore, I can think about it anytime I want and the Lord will bring me hope and direction from it.  Not to mention, power against the enemy.  Can I get an amen?!

Today we are studying how long God’s love is for us, as we consider how long he will walk among us.  This morning I read this chapter, and thought about it all day.  All day while I homeschooled my kids, ran them to their different extracurricular activities, grocery shopped with all 3 of them in tow, and cooked them dinner.

The thing God kept reminding me was:  He was there among us, in our midst during all of this everyday stuff.

He was there this morning  when I felt like taking a day off the daily grind.  (Thankfully I persevered 🙂

He was there when I wanted to ask my daughter how she couldn’t remember how to add her simple addition problems.

He was there when I wanted to yell at their bickering, helping me take a deep breath instead and kindly direct them to “pick out of the get a long jar.”

He was there when I went over budget at the grocery store and helped me swallow my mistake with a gulp of grace for myself.

He was there when my daughter spilt milk all over my husband.

He was there in the fun times when we were writing out scripture together and smiling.

He was there when we were sitting around the table for dinner, laughing and joking.

(As you can see, my day got progressively better:)

The  point is, He was walking among us every step today, seeing the good, bad and the UGLY.  And he was loving us every single second.

Practice being aware of His loving presence!

Leviticus 26

9“I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiplying your people. And I will fulfill my covenant with you.

10You will have such a surplus of crops that you will need to clear out the old grain to make room for the new harvest!

11I will live among you, and I will not despise you.

12I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

13I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high.

Today we studied the length of God’s love in terms of time.

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭136:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our Love Letter From God:

We studied the entire chapter of Psalm 136, and chose the synonyms for “endures”
we most related with.

Don’t you want to just praise Him? His love had preceded your life on earth and will exceed it for all eternity! No love will endure like this. His alone is worthy!!!

Love Letters From God ~ How Long ~ Day 2

Uncategorized

Today I have no pretty pictures of my ill attempts at cool calligraphy.

The Lord’s goodness overwhelmed me this morning and all I could do was use my plain blue pen and scribble through tears.  It was the best day of this study for me yet.  I woke up early enough to get my study done and post a blog before my kids woke up.  My eyes were burning as I looked at the computer screen.  I heard him calling me back to bed.

“Go rest my child.”

I didn’t listen.

So He sent my child out looking for  her mommy to snuggle her. I just love how he gives second chances, don’t you?!

So  then,  I listened.  As I laid there, I was overwhelmed as I  thanked the Lord for one of my most precious gifts lying in my arms.  The days are fleeting, and soon she won’t be coming to get me to snuggle.

Overwhelmed with thankfulness at this precious, fleeting gift of motherhood, I heard the Lord say,

“ENJOY IT.”

“I love you so much, that not only do I lavish you with every good and perfect gift, but I take great delight in watching you thank me and enjoy the gifts I give you.”

The verse I wrote out in scribble as my Love Letter From God today:

James 1:17

‘Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows”

As I wrote out and received this letter of love from the Holy Spirit, I could not get over the fact that my Father gave me his ONLY SON so I could have the hope of heaven.  He could have stopped there!  Why didn’t he just stop there?  He is so so good he decided to bless me and you with all these gifts everyday because he is just that GOOD.  He loves us so so much that he cannot wait to give us more and more good gifts.   What blows my mind from there is that he wants to fellowship with us as we enjoy them.

It’s like when we give our kids Christmas presents.  We know how much joy they are going to have and we cannot wait for them to open it up!  It is thrilling to see their excitement.  But the best part is the time we spend with them, playing  with whatever new toy or gadget we have given them.  Then they turn to us and thank us genuinely, and our hearts melt.  This is a glimpse of our heavenly Father’s love for us!

Take the time today to Thank Him for all these gifts.  Be aware of his loving presence, with you, enjoying your enjoyment of his good and perfect gifts.

Walk in His love today.

Experience the dimensions of God’s Love!

Love Letters From God~How Long~Day 1

Uncategorized

“If we have a greater understanding of how much God loves us, we are going to have a greater and greater love for him in return.  It is a natural response, an authentic movement of a heart to endear someone whom they know genuinely endears them.”

These words flowed from a place in my heart God had been stirring for a while.  I just wanted to love Him more.  I just wanted my family to love him more and more everyday.  Then Jesus dawned it on me:  “They need to understand more and more how much I love them Amy, and then they will love me more and more.  Then you will love me more and more.”

So that became my starting prayer.  That is the pinnacle of this study.  That is the goal of my life.  My determined purpose.  To know Him, to know His love more and more everyday, and for those around me to know it.  It changes everything.

This ever increasing knowledge of His love especially changes your love for Him.  You can’t help but love Him more as you greater understand this love that is so great, it is IMMEASURABLE.  It’s lengths cannot be measured.  But it can be contrasted.  It can be studied according to His Word.

Today we studying the greatest commandment, because the word “greatest” here is very closely related to the word “long” in our theme verse.

Our love letter From God:

Our love Letter to God:

Keep sitting at his feet while you are studying the dimensions of His love.  Your heart, soul, and mind will authentically grow in love for your sweet Jesus.
